Artist Discipline:

Music is all around us and such an integral part of our lives. I love to sing. I need to sing. I love to play the piano. I love to play the guitar. It is out of this passion that I continue to have music every day of my life whether it is in making music or listening to music or participating in another musician’s performance. For me, music is a means of expression of those thoughts, feelings, and experiences deep in the heart. Music is a source of pleasure and enjoyment as well as a way to deal with the angst of life. Music is my art gallery.

Educational Philosophy

I believe that children can learn and grow through musical experiences. I feel it is important to expose students to music by engaging them in singing, playing instruments, clapping, movement, listening, and thinking, all skills which help them for learning the academics and for life.  Many of the musical activities relate to their classroom studies and help support learning in these areas.  Using hands-on activities, songs, body rhythms, visual art experiences, and playing and making instruments, they can experience success and an opportunity for self expression and positive feedback.
