Anavi & Her Doll With Green Eyes
Performance Type: Dance
Piel Morena Contemporary Dance is proud to present Anavi and her Doll with Green Eyes, a dance performance based on a fictional children’s book written by Mexican author Verónica González Andrews. This magical story is a metaphor representing the different stages of grief, according to Thanatology studies. The story recognizes the pain, anguish and fear that comes with loss but represents the love, happiness and hope of healing. PMCD dancers portray the story through movement while a narrator carries the audience along through the text. PMCD has been helping children cope with their grief and fears by using this fictional story as a tool in schools throughout the Chicago land area.
