Capoeira combine rhythmic movements with high kicks and acrobatic maneuvers
to create an amazing display of beauty and culture. Born in Africa and
developed further in Brazil, capoeira is rooted in African-Brazilian slavery.
Today, it is a stunning reflection of that history and commemorates the
struggle for freedom.

Gingarte Capoeira is a non-profit organization that promotes
both the arts and personal development. As the largest capoeira organization
in the Midwest, the club has more than 100 practicing members dedicated
to the art of capoeira, a form of Brazilian martial art, and other forms
of dance.
